The New Lindau Lighthouse has proudly guarded the harbor entrance since 1856. It is the only lighthouse in Bavaria and the southernmost in Germany. Originally, the lighthouse served as a guidance point for ships at the lake, but today, together with the lion, it is considered a symbol of Lindau. On the way up, historical anecdotes, old drawings, and fascinating facts about Lindau await you on the interior walls of the tower. Once you reach the top, you will be rewarded with a beautiful view.
Did you know that the New Lighthouse is not only open to visitors, but can also be rented exclusively for marriage proposals? Surprise your loved one with a proposal in a unique setting, high above Lake Constance and with a view of the Alps.
