Countless lights and small, warmly illuminated market stalls in the Old Town and at Kloster St. Georgen transform Stein am Rhein into a winter fairytale. Magnificently decorated Christmas trees, warming mulled wine and sweet punch awaken the magic of the pre-Christmas season during the contemplative Advent period. Yet the “Märlistadt” (Fairytale Town) is much more than just a Christmas market. In addition, lovingly decorated scenes along the Fairytale Trail invite visitors to immerse themselves in enchanting stories throughout the town.
The puppet theatre festival presents creative productions, workshops and stage programmes for families and theatre enthusiasts. In addition to traditional puppet theatre, special formats for children and interactive performances take centre stage. The event takes place at various venues and combines culture with hands-on experiences for audiences of all ages.
