A place...
Where 3000 years fly by.
No matter whether you let yourself drift or be guided. Exciting, entertaining, educational: in the permanent exhibition you can immerse yourself in the world of the Bible and follow the book of books through 3000 years. From Abraham's time to the present day. Welcome to stroll, discover and explore!
Where families love to come in.
And hardly cease to be amazed.
Young and old explorers can experience the world of the Bible with all their senses: Listen to the stories of yesteryear in the nomad tent. Try out with their hands how grain is turned into flour. Smell biblical fragrances. Let your eyes wander over precious Bible pages. Seek out traces of the Bible in music, art and language. Room by room, a new world of themes opens up. There is a play corner for the little ones and an exciting discovery tour for kids.
Where the old words don't look old at all.
And entire classes become followers.
In the centre of life: How much of the Bible can be found in today's world and what an exciting piece of Western cultural history the Bible tradition represents - here you can go in search of clues.
Where biblical plants have their little garden.
Where interesting facts thrive in all colours.
The Bible and herb garden: Like a little piece of paradise, it delights with biblical fruits, herbs, flowers, fragrances, medicinal plants and a fig tree. The idyllic garden provides an insight into the plant world of the Bible and centuries-old knowledge. The Bible and herb garden is accessible at all times, regardless of the museum's opening hours. It is the highlight of the special exhibition ‘Paradise Plants’ from 11 May to 6 October 2024. Natural objects, large-format colour photos and exciting background information provide a lively insight into the world of plants in Judaism, Christianity and Islam.
