The LGT Alpin Marathon is a demanding mountain race in which runners compete over various distances (including a marathon of approx. 42 km, a half marathon, 10 km and relay options) through Liechtenstein’s Alpine landscape. The classic marathon course leads from Bendern in the Rhine Valley up to Malbun, covering around 1,870 meters of elevation gain and offering spectacular views across the entire Principality. The event is complemented by shorter races, relay formats as well as children’s and charity runs.
Since 2000, it has been a fixed date in the mountain running calendar and ranks among the first marathon highlights of the season. As the only marathon held in the country, it offers a near-complete crossing of Liechtenstein on foot. Competitions are available for various age groups and performance levels, including relay races and children’s runs.
