Hohentwielfestival Singen

Singen, Germany

The most impressive fortification in the Hegau castle region stands on the Hohentwiel in Singen, often called “Hontes” by the locals. The town festival inaugurated in 1969 against the medieval backdrop of the castle ruins has become a small but distinguished music festival featuring international stars and one of the biggest music events in the region and is well-known far beyond the town limits. Jazz legends such as Ray Charles, Miles Davis and Dizzie Gillespie and rock greats like Joe Cocker and Farin Urlaub have already graced the “Hontes”. Classical and Pop music has also found a place in the full programme of the Hohentwiel festival.
