Affenberg Salem

Salem, Germany

Meet Bambi, Adebar and a troop of monkeys

Affenberg Salem is Germany's most beautiful monkey forest. About 200 Barbary Macaques roam freely on a 20 hectare wooded area. It is great fun to watch the youngsters play. The stars are undoubtedly the baby macaques born during spring. Within the monkey area, there are knowledgeable guides to help answer any questions you may have during your trip. And there is more: a beautiful herd of fallow deer, a picturesque pond with numerous waterfowls and giant carps, as well as the largest free-flying stork colony in southern Germany. About 50 pairs of storks breed on the roof tops of Affenberg Salem, every year!
