Heuneburg Open-air Museum – Celtic city of Pyrene

Hundersingen, Germany

In present-day Upper Swabia once stood the oldest city north of the Alps. Even today, mighty walls over 2,500 years old and monumental burial mounds bear witness to the importance and wealth of this Celtic city. In the open-air museum, reconstructed buildings, 3D animations, demonstrations and interactive activities bring Celtic times back to life. Through visitor excavations for adults and young researchers, both the young and old can discover the world of archaeology.
