For four days, the historic old town harbour in Konstanz provides the perfect backdrop for one of the oldest and most important water sports events from Kiel to Genoa. In the more than 100-year-old tradition of a sport and social event, Lake Constance week has, since it was revamped in 2009, established itself as the social meeting point for water sports enthusiasts, vintage car owners and anyone interested in the latest developments. Every year at the start of the water sports season, more than 1,000 participants, some from abroad, and almost 80,000 visitors to the harbour promenade use this unique platform for the purposes of mutual exchange and sporting competition. A colourful and bustling harbour with cultural and sporting events including sailing regattas, rowing competitions, water skiing cups, harbour concerts and shows offers visitors the chance to enjoy a stroll along the jetties. More than 160 classic mahogany yachts, modern high-tech (carbon) racing boats and catamarans, sleek motor boats and historic steamboats as well as gleaming vintage cars give the harbour in Konstanz a Mediterranean maritime feel.
