On the weekend of 10/11 December 2016, the little town of Vaduz is transformed into an enchanting winter wonderland. Christmas sounds and twinkling lights once again create a contemplative mood at the 23rd Vaduz Christmas market. The atmosphere is unique in the region. Nestling at the foot of impressive, snow-capped mountains, Liechtenstein’s capital is surrounded by beautiful countryside. From the city centre, visitors enjoy a unique view of the princely castle towering high above the little town centre. Where else could visitors experience such a regal experience at a Christmas market?
Almost 100 Christmas stalls offer visitors a wide range of Christmas gifts and lovingly crafted Advent decorations. Culinary treats as well as mulled wine and punch are also provided by different stall holders. In addition to the numerous Christmas delicacies, there is naturally also an excellent entertainment programme for young and old alike. Numerous choirs provide musical accompaniment while a children’s carousel, “Santa’s letterbox” and pony rides will put a gleam in children’s eyes. The restaurants and businesses in Vaduz centre also encourage visitors to linger over the two days of the market.
