30th Annual Lake Constance Festival with “Non-classical Club Nights” and Innovative Exhibits

The Bodensee Festival in Friedrichshafen is pleased to present DJ Sessions in addition to the usual line-up of classical music, ballet, literature and theater.

The festival celebrates the motto: “Russia – Onto New Shores” from May 5 - 27, 2018 with 60 events around Lake Constance featuring Russian artists and “New Music” in area clubs. 29-year-old pianist Dmitry Masleev is this year’s artist-in-residence, the impressive winner of the International Tschaikowski Competition who delights fans with “virtuosic brilliance” as quoted by the Financial Times. Gabriel Prokofiev is another artist-in-residence and founder of the legendary “Nonclassical Nights” in London. His compositions and DJ sessions will be featured in two chill environments: Ravensburg’s Club Douala and the Friedrichshafen Casino.

Zeppelin NT – The best way to fly
Fireworks flights, parachute drops, and the breathtaking XTREM flight: these are the exciting new programs for the Zeppelin NT in 2018. Since its first flight over 20 years ago (Sep 18, 1997), the Zeppelin NT has inspired more than 250,000 passengers worldwide.

Outstanding Innovations in the Zeppelin Museum
The large exhibition “Innovations! The Goal is the Future” unveils a hundred years of innovation from the forefathers, offshoots and successors of the Zeppelin Group. The museum also showcases the world’s largest collection of aviation artifacts in a multimedia exhibit that tells a lively story of technical innovation.

Vertical Take-Off Plane Celebrates 50 Years in the Dornier Museum
1968 marks the first and only successful vertical take-off, flight and landing of the Dornier DO 31 transport plane. This craft still holds many world records and brought the Dornier company enormous advances in technology. In collaboration with the German Society for Aviation and Aerospace, the Dornier Museum proudly presents this special exhibit in celebration of this 50th anniversary.

Special Exhibit “How does the world get into the kid’s room?”
In cooperation with Ravensburger book-publishing house, the Friedrichshafen School Museum expands its diverse 2018 program with “Educational Value!?” This exhibit honors the 20th anniversary of Wieso? Weshalb? Warum?, the popular Ravensburger book series that answers every “why” question children ask.

Friedrichshafen from New Perspectives
A new way to see the sights from May to September, visitors can cruise the “Zeppelin City” by boat on a guided tour with the MS Seeschwalbe. Then there’s the walking tour with costumed guide “Graf Zeppelin” who shows you his city, the Zeppelin Museum and recalls his airship building ideas. Individuals can also tour the Zeppelin City by smartphone.
